Fishing was very slow on Toledo Bend but the bite picked up for the tournament, however most of them weren't keepers! I finished 11th I picked up 12pts 1146. I'm disappointed that I didn't get any big bites and place higher. I caught 13 fish, only 3 keepers, and only lost one 3lber my biggest bite, the 6'6 medium rod was too soft! The 8' Shimano Crucial medium heavy rod is so awesome my 7' medium heavies feel small now! They were perfect?<g> I've ordered the $650 Shimano Calais with the computer, I need to be more spoiled? LOL! My fiberglass work fixed my boat problems and it was a joy to run along with my pro series RC digital Motorguide trolling motor. I'll be ready for the 2day Regional on the Red River and the 2000 pts. Then on to the Nationals if I finish about top 50? I was hoping to have the best days of my life on the water, I guess its yet to come? Some guys only caught one fish but they were from 4-8lbs, they definitely have big fish on that lake when you can get them to bite. There is so much baitfish I think they are always full? I needed a 9lber to win a truck on Sam Rayburn, I missed a chance of a lifetime and the fun that comes w/ it? You're always only one bite away from success! Back to work now...
