"Like I said, the same "point" was made in defense of slavery"

Precisely. Bringing Jesus into the debate sheds no light.

Why continue the institution of abortion? Because it's unrealistic to assume people can abstain from sex outside of marriage? Jesus said that even looking at a woman lustfully is a sin. Why should he consider abortion OK in light of why the institution is "necessary" in today's society?

Because when its illegal, a cottage industry of hackers develops to fill the void and they are not licensed and commit all kinds of travesties. And yes, there will always be a need for abortion. Your efforts to simplify what's a very complicated issue will never be effective.

"Jesus said that even looking at a woman lustfully is a sin"

Really? I was raised as a Christian, but don't remember this part of the Gospel. Would you point me to it?

I learned that when it says Jeezuz "knew" a woman in the bible, it means he knew her 'biblically"!
