That's a tiny subset of coaches. After all, we are not making conjectures about thousands of years ago, only 200 years ago. The sources of the time make it clear that a private coach could sustain 8 or 9 mph over distance on good roads (which would have been MacAdamized gravel roads). As Darcy says in Pride and Prejudice, "And what is fifty miles of good roads? Little more than half a day's travel." - this was a very rich man speaking, who owned the coach and horses and had the grooms and drivers on staff.
