Was it a cover up or was the intent to give the family , the feeling he gave up his football career to fight for his country and got killed in action. I never looked at it as a cya , only after rumors were released that he was killed by friendly fire. what harm would have been done if left to , he was killed in action.

LB, I know General K and I know General J quite well. I attended meetings with K last year and work with J everyday on SF related stuff. These men are great patriots and warriors. The allegations are an outrage. This has enormous implications for the SF community and all of them are negative. This mess has become ridiculous. This situation is not what it seems. What a surprise! The real issue now is where is army leadership? Army, SOCOM and DOD leaders have yet to make a single statement. I believe they know better. Months ago, I was briefed in precise detail on the battle and Tillman's actions, and believe the story alleging a cover-up story is the fabrication and the Silver Star was earned. The briefer had walked all of the terrain with participants. I believe I comprehend the reasons for the false charges and just sent an email explaining such and also described the similar Col Rheault situation in 1969. I also submitted my recommendations for action. I will provide more related info later. Tomorrow is a traveling day for me. Back to NC.
