There's conjecture on Tillman's wiki entry that he was intentionally fragged. en.wikipedia.org ("On July 26, 2007, AP recieved [sic] official documents stating that the investigating doctors performing the autopsy suspected that Tilman[sic] was deliberately murdered")

Whether any of it's true, becomes a non-issue. Surely, given the press about that (national AP and others) , some of it will somehow blow back through the grapevine to the family. Now, if you're Ma Tillman and you've already personally experienced the "Official CYA" measures, the "new news" will likely compound the 'why Am I Upset?' factor. An official attempt to honourably hide an unfortunate truth is ..... putting out fire with gasoline. No way to "value" that attempt.

>>"One of the problems with doing something iffy for someone else's benefit is that the recipient might have a different idea of his best interest. I recall the family being upset over the lie, preferring to hear the truth. Had the family valued the attempt to hide the truth, things would probably have proceeded differently."
