Have we ever had a major crash in mid-summer? ... can't recall one, i think maybe so many players are away from the game it is less likely ... you get sharp little dumpolas in specific stocks in this season, some bozo is soaking up the rays on a beach and wants to impress the hot young lady he just met by taking her off to the south of France, so he doesn't care anymore and sells something at market, meantime everybody else is away doing whatever and has forgotten to leave in stink bids, so the thing tanks briefly on small volume ... and so what, means nothing in the grand scheme of things To get a Big Kahuna, you have to arrange everybody present at their keyboards, so that they can all put in their sell orders at the same time, and simultaneously pull bids ... right? ... but them, um, technology has brought us the blackberry, and that bozo on the beach may have one, oops ... i could even get stock quotes over this stupid new cell phone here that i can't figure out how to operate [got to find a twelve year old, and get his take on all this]
