I just realized something from your post.

In a static economy, like the caste system in India, you get multiple moralities, each to a caste because each morality is self-serving to the caste.

But in an economically mobile economy, like the US used to be, you tend to get a singular morality, a morality that's universal to people in general because the people, the carriers of morality, often shift economic lines, upward and downward, so it changes their perspective.

Wow.

That's amazing to me.
