I couldn't verify Wesley comments either. Needless to say, from the evidence now available, it certainly appears to be unfriendly cold blooded murder turned into war PR with the collusion of the entire chain of command. Including Bush.

Marcos himself appears to be a pretty solid guy, but on that site anyone can start a "dairy" and make contributions to it, the fact that the author cited the site and not a particular author makes me think he took it from an anonymous entry into a "diary." It is the equivalent of siting someone I say on an SI thread. I agree the spin was authorized from high up but that is far different from ordering a "hit" on an army ranger, the consequences of the latter far outweigh the benefits, nobody is going to risk life in prison to silence someone who doubts the advisability of the war in Iraq, if you spit out the window it will land on someone who doubts the advisability of the war in Iraq, even back then.
