If AMD continues to suffer and the performance gap
increases, it seems likely that Intel's ASP could
go up $10 to $20. That would double earnings.

I bet that was also your view when INTC was under 17 a year ago ? You probably just don't like the stock or the company.

That's correct, but not a saviour to AMD. The important part to remember is that inferior product cannot sell at same price as better product. Meaning company that makes inferior product (at equal cost) will not make profit. Meaning it will go out of business. Then there is a window for surviving company to make over-sized profits, until next challenger rises.
