Ever watch HGTV's show, "Designed to Sell"? They do all their fixes with less than $2000 and seven days. It's amazing the transformations they can make in those houses. Most of what they do is get people to move out all their crap and put it in storage.

The first thing the designers do with houses with those bright colors is paint everything over with neutral colors (not shades of white). The whole idea is that any strong color (no matter how great it looks to you) is going to narrow the number of possible buyers. The idea is to have people picturing their stuff in there, not what they might have to do before they can even move into your house.

You wouldn't think a $25 can of paint would make the difference between someone buying a house but apparently it does.
