Looks like we have a 8-10x multiplier in my area versus Baltimore. Is the Bay Area 8-10x better living than Bmore? Maybe Oakland would be a better comparison (6x in Oakland?).

There is a distinct difference in how the 3 acre mansions of B'more are decorated versus a similar place in Atherton, CA. Of course, if you have 15million to buy a place, the sky is probably the limit for interior design.

I don't think I'd want to own an 8000 sq. ft. place unless I was an executive that had to entertain. A house is just a place to store your crap as George Carlin explains. With a family of 4, I need, what, 1800-2500 sq. ft.?
