"well there seems to be NO indication from most Muslims that any of them are as appalled at the conduct of the "extremists as we are. Is there any reason for us to assume that the deafening silence from the Muslim Majority should be construed as anything but support for murder."

Ichy, I don't know you very well but I can only guess that your comfort with a thread like this one is indicative of how broadly you experience life in general. If that is true I can understand why it seems that way to you. It doesn't seem that way to me but I don't hang out only in groups where a narrow perspective is shown.

"Okay, how do We decide who is who? On the Pakistani religious TV program on Vision Television they had a militant who calls for the death of all Jews, one has to assume that someone is agreeing with him as it wasn't Muslims who called for him to be taken off the air, they supported him. "

That's a good question. We can decide about groups who've publicly taken a radical stand or groups who support a particular leader who's taken a radical stand. Outside of that it is like trying to know who is going to be a child molester in our own culture. You can't, unless you are willing to involve yourself enough to pick up on the characteristic signs of a perv or an extremist. Even then some sneaky b#@tard can get under the radar. I suggest community involvement where there is a diverse mixture of people but I know that isn't for everybody. I am involved in my community and I know who I would be looking at if there was any move to radical stuff. The vast majority are not and shouldn't be persecuted for the things psychos do.

"And when Muslims take up the cause and deplore radical Islam long and Loud we will greet them with open arms, while they silently stand by and support the murder of salman Rushdie and other people some looney puts a death order on, we need to be aware that they have accepted this as Islamic behaviour.

I'm guessing that would be when Muslims agree to reform Islam to your satisfaction, and maybe when there are no more psycho muslims, and maybe when every Muslim blames Islam for bad stuff in the world, but that's just a guess.
