I have seen the same thing in other countries; politics becomes paralyzed by the same set of personalities, rivalries, issues, etc. That's why it's important for France that Sarkhozy succeeds in being something different than the same tired old pols that have run that country for almost three decades. I think Obama will have a fair chance to work the primary audiences and make his pitch for an alternative. Edwards too. In the end, the voters will get what they want.
