"The French, who would be in the best position to know since they operate Niger's uranium mines, apparently told the British that he was trying to buy uranium." And, apparently the Butler Report was unaware of the French information. What that guy must be thinking of is French Intelligence did mention that they had some rumors the Niger was exploring trying to export yellow cake to various countries, including Iraq. But, they didn't have any proof that such activities had occurred.
