I think it makes a lot of sense.

Even if you were a billionaire, would you want to just chuck your money in the sewer? Your life is more valuable than money, so why would you chuck it away? We will all make different calculations as to what time wasting will be, but I certainly understand why people would prefer to spend their time in ways they think feel productive to them.
