You are violating your own header:

This thread does not advocate a partisan approach. Free expression of thought is welcome as long as it does not transgress on the thoughts of others by way of personal ridicule, slurs etc.

There is the presidency and there is a President. And there is the United States of America (or "us").

To the extent it is true that "our friends of yesterday do not want to meet with us today" it is because of the President. That would change with whoever is the next President, unless it would be Dick Cheney, and he says he's not running.

Apparently, you didn't care about the differences between "is" and "was" and "will be", and now you distort Bill Clinton's response in an interrogatory many years ago, which was literally true (and better stated and less subject to later soundbites than "There is not. There was, and there isn't" - AFAI remember the details), into the present tense for Hillary Clinton.

<he gave us the opportunity to display his being in tune with the prevalent days> I think you are right -- the idea that he displayed his inexperience by commenting on who he would meet with without preconditions is, in some respects, a defining characteristic of these leaders. If we really want to be world leaders on the global stage, we have to break out of our political and diplomatic isolation. Those who disapproved of what Obama said reflect a false belief that we are well served by our isolation -- I think it is our greatest weakness. This, in my view, greatly increases his credibility as a candidate for positive change in the US.
