Well, I think what they are trying to do is limit the amount of crap that is served up to them. It's a technique that rarely works, but I do understand why people try. It's hard to see some article of crap posted to oneself and ignore it- because there is the old legal premise of "what the reasonable person would deny"- in other words, what you do not deny you agree with. On the other hand I think if you are on SI long enough you have to try to develop a WTF attitude about some of the crap, or you'd spend way too much time dealing with it. I think the "I don't have time..." response is a first step on the road to recovery, and to developing a WTF attitude :-)
