I was just telling shades I was a long way from the citizenship application. But it will take my partner less than half the time in Aus to become a citizen than here. It used to be only two years but they raised it I think to four now from arriving in Aus. I don't know yet whether if we get married that speeds it up at all. Will be a lot less hassle for her to travel after that as she has a PRC passport at the moment. I wasn't born in Australia (my mother was). Only lived than 6 years. But I do like the feeling of being a citizen.
