Whereas, when Arabs declare that formerly "multicultural" land (a complete misnomer) is wholly Arab and Muslim, well, hey that's just fine, no historical conflicts result from THAT - just look at Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia etc. You see any Jews in those countries? You think there never were any?

May I suggest that the attitude of other people to Jews sharing the land affecting the Jews' readiness to cede control to new Arab masters?

King Abdullah of Transjordan suggested that the Jews of the yishuv accept minority status in Transjordan, by which King Abdullah meant the original Mandate of Palestine - todays Israel, Pal territories, and Jordan all together. That was in 1947. In 1951 he was shot.

What do you think would have happened to the Jews of Palestine had they accepted the offer?

The Arabs' hatred has proved enduring, irrational and paranoid. Your mistake is to think because it's strong it must have been forseeable and was justified. Go back and read the sources. It was neither.
