No doubt. Our governor was one of those people involved in the tobacco money grab. What really bothers me about that event is that the government has known for years that tobacco was addictive AND caused health issues. They did nothing because they loved the taxes and still do. But when they settled with the Tobacco companies it was done in such a way that was easy to sell because they were doing it to help the public - yeah right! The settlement was earmarked for stop smoking commercials and other programs that were meant to lower the % of smokers. The other thing it did was make it almost impossible for people to sue the tobacco companies. Now, years in advance of all the revenues expected from the settlement, the money has been spent. It did nothing to benefit the public which was part of the basis for the lawsuit in the first place. Since you can't sue the companies and since the government knew of the health issues AND since they got both taxes and the settlement I think people should be able to sue the federal govt as well as the states. < nice run-on sentence

Isn't that true of Michigan as well?

Especially in the Socialist Republic of Wisconsin.
