If he is a non-native speaker he may have trouble with satire. Idioms, irony, humor and satire are very hard for non-native speakers. In fact some non-native speakers of English never completely master these tasks- just as English native speakers tend to be deviled by the same issues when they speak other languages. Heck, plenty of native English speakers get caught off guard by the Onion, and other such sites- so I don't think you can really take an inability to spot such a piece as indicative of a general personality flaw. IMO, of course.

Ah, Sam, Nazine will have you believe that Arabs and Muslims have no feelings if they are human at all. The irony of the Onion article is that some people do believe, with the help of Zionists like Nazine and AIPAC, that Arabs have no feeling and are not human. The aim of the Zionists and AIPAC is that if enough people in the US believe that the Arabs are not humans with no feelings it is easier to kill them. Example, if you followed the Lebanese-Israeli war July 06, you would have noticed the US administration allowed the killing of civilians on the bases security and that the Israeli response to the kidnapping of two soldiers was measured. Not only the US administration rushed bomb shipments to Israel to use against civilians but also blocked every UN resolution to stop the war for 30 days. The same went on in Gaza and the West Bank. Israel justification to the occupation of Palestinian land is that the Palestinians are nobodies and need to be controlled. The American public will react to a suicide bomber against Israel with rage yet they will happily sit and watch on their TV 500 tonne bombs dropping on Palestinians.
