Bob...I think in theory the idea is super. I've tried something like that; however, there is one problem for me. It gives me too many stocks to watch. For example, the year that BCON ran big, I sold most of mine and just kept a smaller amount. I didn't put a stop on it and it just got away from me watching it for I had other stocks to watch and finally I sold it for around b/even. Granted if I had put a stop on it wouldn't have been in that position; however, some stocks are so volatile I don't like to put hard stops on them.

This would be different IMHO if I traded mostly quality stocks that I wouldn't mind "investing" in and holding LT. Frankly, many of the stocks I trade are just due to TA and not FA and aren't ones I'd buy LT. Anyway, the method might work for you.
