“There’s a lot of work to be done in Iraq,” deputy spokesman Tom Casey said. “I’ll leave it to the parliamentary leaders themselves to explain why this might be a good time to take a break.”

Someone I have known a long time; I can imagine what was going through poor Tom's mind when he had to shovel that manure out the door of the spokesman's office.

This is not directed at you, but just to you, <g> but I am constantly amazed at hearing countless times that the Iraqi parliament should not take a vacation, yet absolutely no complaints about Bush and the congress doing the same.

It's not as if Bush and pals bear no responsibility for the mess in Iraq, nor can anyone say that there is not urgent work required in the US. Bush didn't even disrupt his vacation for Katrina.

Hell, the Iraqi's have even been shelled in the green zone, and how many have been killed while travelling to their jobs? That is a bit more pressure than what is faced by US politicians.

Maybe it's just me.....
