They're either crazy, or Bush puppets, or EVIL. "<< O'Hanlon and Pollack sinned long before this article with their very enthusiastic support of this unnecessary, very unwise, destructive invasion which has succeeded (as General Odom predicted) in creating many more well trained terrorists, not less and a much more dangerous world particularly for us. Re Pollack's credibility...he was on NPR later yesterday discussing his article and responding to a question about how safe Iraq was becoming since he made so much about in the OP Ed, he said that his comments did not include the south of Iraq, specifically Basra, which was "very, very bad" and the Brits were really pinned down at the airport...no further elaboration and very strange comment since both Gordon Brown yesterday and the former Press Secretary of Blair who is plugging his book of Blair Admin Diaries in the US said that the situation of Basra was so good that the Brits were ready shortly to completely turn over all security work to the Iraqis. And re the article stuff on how all those water and electricity projects that the military always seems to be doing so well on...(they have stopped telling us about all those schools they are building for those "poor" Iraqi kids)...the Defense Dept Iraq Auditor said yesterday that electricity output and water supplies in Iraq were still not up to pre invasion levels which, btw, was 5 years ago under that really bad guy and evil Saddam and his government. Didn't Bremer get rid of that Baathist government and give all those water and electricity projects and $BNs of unfunded monies to the "free enterprise" glories of Halliburton to show the wonders of our way of freedom to the Middle East. The Auditor must be lying since Bremer got the country's highest civilian award. Oh yeah...we can really "win over there"! What exactly does that win mean?...do we get to keep our troops occupying Iraq, getting killed, with Iraqis getting killed and more well trained "terrorists" getting first hand killing experience at our expense until Iraq wins the World Cup...HUH??? Now about that $20BN to Saudi Arabia, $13BN to Egypt, $30BN to Israel for more sophisticated killing stuff...Are we just totally nuts???
