Which is why AMD's lawyers were all over it when it was announced.

They were all over it for PR purposes.

The EC has fined large amounts in the past, 600 million for MSFT for example. There are still some appeals running so that one's still uncertain but don't expect the public slap on the wrist that is common in Japan, they will pursue it.
