I doubt you will find a Medicare document that states part A is free, although you will find language that says it is premium free because you paid taxes while working.

For tax purposes, it's effectively free. You pay taxes or get tax credits based on what you receive or pay in a particular tax year.

Of course, if you want to parse the word, "free", that's your prerogative.

Probably one of the most clear docs I've seen on SS and Medicare,but even so, it is produced by the Government with LOTS of "governmentese and legalese every other word...."
