AQ is a point of view. When we lend support to that point of view, it grows. Our problem is we don't always see ourselves as others see us, and while we think what we do is perfectly rationale and helpful, others see in a different light. We have to stop doing so much to promote the growth of the AQ view of the world. Then we need to starve that point of view to death. Hamas seems in between -- far more effective than some organizations at providing daily support services to its constituency. Sadr in Iraq is viewed this way as well. We should use this to understand that the provision of basic services is not a trivial issue. This is equally true in Gaza and Baghdad.

Once the Palestinian problem is solved, AQ with time will dissolve, they will have no fuel to recruit. I hope Nazine explains this to you that existence of AQ after the liberation of Afghanistan from the Soviets is the interference of Americans in ME on behalf of Israel. Thus if the Israeli Palestinian situation is resolved, you would have no American interference hence, no reason for AQ to exists.
