ChinuSFO What would Obama have done in reg to Iraq? Don't think he has answered that question yet. In the article------------ "He said in last paragraph that "because of a war in Iraq that should never have been authorized and should never have been waged, we are now less safe than we were before 9/11."" Any opponent of Obama's will question his claim linking the war in Iraq to being less safe now. How safe were we before 9/11? If we were safe then, one may legitimately argue that 9/11 would never have happened. Quite frankly, I believe we are safer than before------we have security measures now in place that didn't exist before 9/11. We've learned that "homeland defense" must become a number one endeavor as well as going on the offense with the terrorist types whereever they be. Fascinating to see Hilary, Obama and Edwards beginning to shift on the military issues. They are beginning to sound truly Hawkish. jmho mj

Extremely foolish IMO. Consider if he gets the nomination as a hawk and a Republican is to his right. Then Bloomberg runs and wins. Obama is inconsistent with his past statements. He would meet with no preconditions with 5 enemies but make a long-distance ultimatum with an "ally"? Pervez Musharraf is extremely weak in his "hold" on power. Obama's 8/1 strategy would set the nation in turmoil, with unpredictable leadership and access to nuclear weapons that are now controlled by the government. Today Obama looks like a loose cannon and even more naive. He's reacting to the YouTube question and his answer. - The $25 million on bin Laden's head (or dead or alive) didn't work and the $50 million isn't working. We should drop the amount $5 million a month and when it gets to $0 leave it there. Or drop it altogether. Then use it for something that works. I haven't read the fine print, but if bin Laden dies and the offer is still out there, someone is going to give us his body and demand the money. We'll pay the $50 million and have to do something with it. So as not to make things worse, we'll just give the body back so he can be buried where he has asked to be.
