Ed,

You are 100% right.....I cannot imagine a company like Exxon (or one of the major players) not taking a chance to buy the leases if they were given the opportunity (i.e. auction). These guys can easily wait 5-10 years to start drilling for oil if they knew they owned the lease and could talk to a more friendly future administration.

Coastal's sale of these leases for $15M has to be one the strangest moves a company has ever made regarding oil bearing properties.

So I guess the next question is when does Coastal file for bankruptcy...I mean what else is left? We have heard no new news on their "properties" in Montana.

I sold a small amount of COCBF at $0.145 today. Earlier today I placed the order to sell at $0.13 or better, all or none when the last trade was at $0.13 and the current bid was at $0.12 (asked $0.14). Apparently someone placed an open order to buy at the $0.145 price which turned out to be the high for the day. That buy order must've been for around 100,000 shares and they mopped up all the sell orders including mine since I think the final volume for the day was over 140,000 shares.

Does anyone know who and why someone is buying these shares at this time? This price action is pretty strange, but I have been expecting something to happen, perhaps some hype or rumor that could get the stock over $0.20 sometime before they go bankrupt :-). I think you could have bought the stock for around $0.07 last month if I recall correctly.
