Sorry, but that "informative" article fails to mention that there are sources and sinks of CO2. That human and agricultural CO2 emissions (from breathing, faurting and whatnot) are taken up by plants. Don't forget that ruminants and pigs etc.. eat corn, oats, wheat, fodder etc.. which are sinks for their biogas emissions. There are however not adequate sinks for CO2 emissions from fossil fuel burning.

Not to worry though, peak oil and continued dependence on fossil fuels will propel the price oil and prosperity will continue in Alberta.

Global warming is the result of a lot of man's behavior and is a serious problem. It also should be a matter of science not a political bantering.

The human species does a very good job of denying reality it doesn't like e.g. evolution.

"Feed crops take 30 per cent of the world's arable land. Livestock
command 70 per cent of the planet's agricultural land and 30 per cent of
its entire land surface."

Yeppers, they eat the grass, that has already absorbed the carbon. Then they
crap,
in the pasture and the grass grows even better. Endless cycle.
Big difference between: "arable land" and "agricultural land" Based on
the
simple need to survive; "arable land" has seldom been used for pasture.
He should consult a "dictionary"!
Pasturing any animal, on land that is not "arable" instantly converts,
scrub-land (bascially usless) into "agricultural land" producing food from
almost nothing. eg. NZ lamb, Ontario cheese, mountain goats, etc.
Phuck him and the cow he rode in on! Doubt he's smart enough to saddle a
horse. But he should study the history of agriculture/farming before
emitting more carbon, everytime he opens his mouth.
There is only one problem. Too many people. And they consume too much! Even
the starving ones. For the earth too feed them. An now N.A. thinks
converting food to fuel is a good idea!
