They are frightened of the Filipino, Iraninas, Indians, Indonesians, Malaysians and Eastern Europeans. The locals keep crying for a limit on the H1B visas to portecn their market. Not many Malaysians, Indonesians, Iranians, or Filipino H1Bs that I have seen (at least in technology) Chinese, Indians, Eastern Europeans and to a lesser extent Western Europeans. As I pointed out there are many ways to get a working visa to the US. The market by and large is not "protected".
