I don't think the Palestinian and Arab/Israeli conflict has anything at all to do with jobs or democracy or corruption. I think it revolves around a single issue. That is the issue of land, and that includes the most sensitive of all, Jerusalem. Quite simply, the Palestinians want back the land they occupied before the Balfour Declaration and the creation of the state of Israel almost 60 years ago. Sixty years is not a long time in the memory of a people. The intransigence of both sides, and indeed the steady expansion of territories by Israel since then seems to me, at least, to be the problem. Any solution would have to involve compromise by both sides, which doesn't seem likely, as Israel has an overwhelming military might.

It was a derogatory remark about you using the same logic that the Southerner's used in this country to try and keep people in slavery and later to deny equal rights. I keep hearing this line from Israeli aploogists. Do you get your talking points from Netanyaho or AIPAC. Do not try and twist it Barry.

Before the Palestinians were DRIVEN out they were living quite well in the villages that Israel later destroyed.

And still haven't paid reparations by the way. Maybe Israel could use some of the $80 billion Germany gave Israel in the 50's to use for reparation payments - but didn't.

I wonder what $80 billion compounded at 5% for 50 years would be.
