You might want to visit with your local Social Security office also. IOW, you just might be eligible for SS when you reach 65 plus 10 months.

I do not have enough quarters to qualify for SS. Making a trip to my local office won't change that.

Doing so would automatically enroll you in Medicare and ensure that you wouldn't have to do all this research on your own.

Somehow, I think that the research I'm doing is a whole lot "simpler" solution than working for another thirty quarters. Now look who's complicating things...

I'm still digging and in the process identifying a few bits that may be useful to the thread. While you were composing your latest jibs and jabs, I was poking around in Turbotax to see what it calculates as MAGI. It seems there may be a problem in Turbotax's calculation. MAGI for purposes of Medicare is supposed to add back in tax-free interest. Turbotax didn't. I think I may just stop digging there since, if that's an error, it's in my favor. <g>
