You can "close" the short:

Rule 2- You start out with $100 fictive money, no real cash required, and get to "buy" stocks on Apr 2th and also the last Friday of each month, see rule 5- below. You pay 1% commission on sales or short covers, buys are free. You can sell a stock, long or short, any day as long as your sales order for all of that stock is in same day before market closes. You then get the closing price of same day.
Sell all or none of the stock, no partial sales allowed!
