Sure, but they are less likely to. Trust me, I was just at the pool. Loads of women in bikinis, and one or two poor ladies in burkas. I didn't lust after the burka-clad ladies once.Obviously women should be mindful of how they dress, but you're taking the argument to an extreme, as if men really can't help themselves, and God really does allow believers to be tempted beyond what they can handle. I'm not saying men can't help themselves, I'm just taking your interpretation of Christianity to its logical conclusion. If sexual thoughts are sinful, men and women should avoid placing themselves in situations where sexual thoughts are likely to occur. The pool comes to mind as a good place for Christians to avoid, since there are going to be attractive married female bodies all over the place. Yet Christians go to the pool all the time, so it sounds like your interpretation is extreme. Otherwise, all those Christians wouldn't go to the pool in bikinis. Based on your understanding, how can a good married beautiful Christian woman ever wear a bikini at a public pool when she realizes that is likely to create sin in the minds of many of the (straight) men at the pool? Maybe she could wear a one-piece Speedo instead, but that won't make much of a difference in your mind. As long as the line between beauty and eroticism continues to be blurred, men will continue to believe that they can't help themselves. Its not a blurring of beauty and eroticism that is the problem in your interpretation, it's sexual thoughts about women. Wearing a one piece speedo is unlikely to get rid of those thoughts. I don't see how a good Christian married woman, under your interpretation, can leave the house without worrying that she is going to cause many of her good Christian male naeigbors to commit a sin. ALL of her neighbors won't commit a sin, since, as you point out, some amazing men can resist thinking sexual thoughts when presented with a sexually attractive woman, but some will fail and commit a sin. So how can these good beautiful Christian women go outside when they realize they are going to cause sin in a certain percentage of their male population? It would seem a good women in your idealogy would do her best to be asexual. And that sounds Islamic in today's world, not Christian.
