I use Quicken XG 2007 .. And yeah, I upgraded it this year from XG 2004 when I bought Quicken Suite 2007 which included QuickTax Platinum.. Canadian Versions..

I have never used Stock Tracker as a separate product since I have been using Quicken since about 14 years (starting from original DOS version).. The experience last few years have been a bit mix since there are few issues with their support as well problem such as dealing with US securities in RRSP etc.. but overall it works well enough that I have not switched to only other product out there MS Money..

Quicken XG 2007 will handle your private portfolio and personal finance management as well as allow you to setup a separate file and environment if you have a business or incorporated entity separately.. It allows importing of data from different sources (such as your financial institution, MS Money, other QIF files, etc. so I don't see why it won't allow you to import your last year's Platinum QuickTax data..

Why don't you check if your Stock Tracker has an export function.. That should clarify.. I would check the Stock Tracker that I got on my PC thru this year's XG 2007 except I just realized my installations had a bit of problem since Stock Tracker seems to be missing some files.. And since I don't really need it I don't want to risk reinstalling it..

Perhaps you can find something relevant here..

I have Q2006 and am less than happy with its ability as far as my stock accounts go. I cannot get it to do anything with IB and while it connects and gets balances from My TD portfolio accounts it doesn't pick up any new transactions. Everything must be entered by hand. Find constant problems with the quote system. An example is PZA.UN every time it gets a price it is out by a factor of 10 resulting in a change to the values. If the price is $8.75 it posts it as $87.50. This is just one example of many. It is unable to get and provide me with prices on a lot of securities.

It seems to do a terrific job of getting transactions from my chequing account, Mastercard the usual Bank account stuff.
