There was some question as to whether the US had the right to go to war against Saddam but that is somewhat irrelevant now.

Yeah sure...irrelevant...now that 3500+ soldiers have died, 10's of thousands of Iraqis dead, many thousands of injuries and millions of displaced homeless refugees. Ooops our bad.

Once Saddam was defeated the government of Iraq was vacant. The USA had not only the right but the responsibility to stay and do their best to support the effort to build Iraqi security.

Yeah right...how much will the new oil "law" be worth without the security to move the oil?
