For the most part of 20 years since 1949, the People's Republic of China lived under the constant threat of nuclear attacks by the US. However, the US nuclear blackmail came to a crashing halt when China exploded its first Atom Bomb in 1966 and its first Hudrogen Bomb in 1968.

Not long after that the US established rapprochement and detent with China! and lots of Americans have been flocking ever since in droves to China to kiss ass.

Ahmadinejad is, no doubt, inspired by all this. That's why he is very determined to have Iran become a nuclear power eventually. To be sure, possession of nukes is the way to go to make the playing field level and gain at least a modicum of respect from all around.

The world is not the same as the world before 2000. Now big powers, including the US, find themselves highly vulnerable. No longer can they attack weaker countries with impunity; there will be horrendous consequences!!! For example, who foresaw the mess and the quagmire that ensued after what had seemed to be an easy conquest and assured victory for the US before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003?

It is asinine of you to be still rooting for Bush and the GOP-ers.

Iran doesn't have any nuclear weapons, you imbecile. They are 5-10 years away from possibly having them. It's up to us to make sure that doesn't happen, but we'll have to use diplomacy as well as military pressure. Military might alone doesn't solve anything in the Middle East. It just creates more USA haters. After all, what the hell are we doing over there anyway? It's all about oil. And we should be getting OFF oil, not starting new wars for it. And be aware, it was Bush-Cheney who put the extremists in power in Iran and Palestine. iran was moderating greatly before Bush started his reckless and dishonest saber rattling.
