A Swedish factory worker back in the 1960s went to court against the forced union membership or rather the monetary consequences of same.
While he in no way per se tried to challenge same system, he just wanted to make sure, that his union contribution would in no way be used to support the social democrats, a party he could and would not support out of inner conviction.

He lost.
