<<Apparently they were under fire from their own.....>> Ok, there was a SNAFU in the fog of war but that doesn't mean he was murdered. Reminds me of when the 581st ambulance company was supposed to attack the 583rd in Germany on a training mission. Our Captain lead us through the woods in area A and found a camp. While he was planning the attack I took a closer look. It wasn't the 583rd, it was a German mobile missile unit and I bet they weren't loaded with blanks.
