Why... THANK YOU!

(Sky 'color'... 'air' being clear, don't 'cha know, is attributable to Index of Refraction --- the angle that sunlight hits the atmosphere and the differing colors that make up the sunlight are refracted... just like through a lens.)

Thus: redder skies in morning and afternoon (the red end of the visible spectrum refracting more... the blue less), and the bluest skies at high noon --- when the light hits more 'straight on', and more of the blue light reaches ground level.)
