This is a mult-layered campaign and these issues are multi-layered. It is simplistic to say "If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will." It was naive. It learned nothing from Iraq II. I like Giuliani's response to that on Charlie Rose this week. The first thing you do is verify. You check the actionable intelligence. You don't just shoot or press a button. You don't just shoot at an ally either. That message, if appropriate, could be given in a better manner without having our enemies know it was done. We want a President who is cautious and prudent and mature.
