If Italy sells gold in times of trouble, US can cut defense budget and achieve the same result.

The gordo can always shed some fat and still keep himself alive. Because the system is so fatty, they can survive slim cow years.

It doesn mean they become Schwarzeneggers, but they live on after being cut to a more "natural size".
