The Special Boat Service is the special forces arm of the Royal Navy. The Special Air Service is the larger special forces arm of the British Army. Sort of like our Army Rangers/Delta Forces and the Navy's Seal Teams.

You have the right idea, Special Boat Service is similar to our US Navy SEALS.

But Special Air Service (SAS) is more like our US Army Special Forces (Green Berets) than either Rangers or Delta.
