John:

it is not our country. we honor them and go in at their request most of the time.

You mean like in Iraq? The alternative of not ever going to where bin Laden is, is that we may never get the man responsible for 9-11. I just do not understand the thinking that seems to be fine with nation building in Iraq that is sucking us dry, while at the same time being happy handing off to NATO the responsibility of bin Ladin.

nato seem to doing fine in afghanistan.. killed 100 yesterday and took out top two leaders. let them handle it

John, what do you think we are trying to accomplish in Afghanistan? Do you think we are achieving what you see as our goal? There has to be a goal, an end point - otherwise we just sit there forever spinning our wheels until the American public says enough is enough. You read the following news account of Afghanistan and tell me again that NATO is doing "just fine".

washingtonpost.com

What does Karzai think? .....The Afghan leader's visit comes as he faces competing troubles at home _ civilian killings, surging opium production and steady violence and a resurgent Taliban. Your thinking of just fine differs from mine - I want to accomplish the mission and come home! What do you see as our mission John?
