We got our deep fat fryer at Value City for 19.95 several years ago. We use it about once a month - works great and just takes a few minutes to set up. I cool the unit overnight with the oil still in it and then pour the oil into quart jars. It keeps well until the next time we use it. And except for the heater coil with the electrical control, everything goes in the dishwasher and comes out perfectly.

We go a steal on that one!

At what temperature did you bake it to turn nice and brown.

I use bread crumbs that are described as Japanese for tempura Nice and light. Gives everything a golden look....

Dip cod in egg and bath it in these and fry with Pam in the pan for five minutes per side. Nice and flaky.
