AgriChar Uses

Posted by Mr. Michael Garjian:

In My Opinion:

Char as fertilizer is valid but is the tip of the iceberg of possibilities.

Char as coal replacement is even more valid in that tests by a major coal burning utility Vee-Go Energy works with show char can replace 50% of coal burned in USA plants without causing damage to SCR equipment. One hundred fifty six new coal-burners are seeking permits as we speak.

Char as carbon sequestration technology is even more valid in that char can reverse global warming on a massive scale by returning carbon back to earth in most efficient and long-lasting (thousands of years) manner known to science. Please, all of you, read the below link. The brightest scientific minds re sequestration are just beginning to realize what we have known for more than a year. These normally stolid scientists are getting excited! An excerpt:

"Because the pace of global warming already exceeds projections, Flannery is convinced that the world must do more than just reduce emissions; we must find ways to rapidly remove CO2 from the atmosphere. According to many researchers at the conference, agrichar has the potential to store billions of tons of carbon safely away in soils.

"The attendees were clearly excited by this potential, and, unlike other meetings concerned with climate change, an electric buzz of optimism was in the air. Joe Herbertson, director of a consulting company called Crucible Carbon, said, "When I heard about this technology, the hairs went up on the back of my neck. This is the best news on climate change I've ever heard."

Lastly, a calculation I did last year shows that considering that 250 ppm of CO2 is OK and current is 380 ppm, we can prevent 11.408 million cubic feet of atmosphere from going to 380 by converting just one bushel of soybeans to JR fuel, which would replace 5 gal of fossil fuel and return 16 lbs of carbon in the char back to the earth.

I believe we will see John's process used by a number of large million gallon per day, continuous process, plants. However, we will also see thousands and thousands of batch process mini-reactors throughout the world converting local biomass to energy and returning billions of pounds of carbon back to the earth.

In My Opinion.
