History indeed does repeat itself. The Industrial Revolution created cheap labor demands that resulted in millions of Europeans jumping on the nearest steamship heading to the USA. Of course, in those days the common laborer did not have computers, the internet and global communication/information at their fingertips. Will today's American workers, equipped with the power of the vote & modern communication, be able to stave off the global corporate pressures trying to yet again manipulate their lives to the will of commerce?
