pipe bomb... as fire work? i don't understand that one.

anyone ever make a pipe bomb as a kid for a fire work? just making one can blow off your fingers if it goes off. We are talking about metal flying around when exploded not paper wrapping.

First note this re the pipe bombs....and second, how many of us travel around with pipe bombs in the trunk of the car...? Especially near any military site?????

The article said:

"Bombs" is plural.......and "an" indicates one.... maybe they meant the "explosive device" was the car.....

Also, how long have these guys been "students".....??? What are their majors? And 24 years old, still a student????
