Since neither of us are in Iraq our opinions of what is best for Iraqis may be constrained by the information we have available. If you believed that I would like the US Congress to spend more time in session, you are mistaken. They could solve most of the pressing problems of our country if they met less often, like 15 days a year. It would make it more difficult to ignore the pressing needs while acting partisan.

Having hit burn out more than a few times, I must say that in my humble opinion a vacation is necessary to break bad patterns. Iraqis seem to have some bad patterns of partisanship based on religious sect. If a vacation helps them return with a fresh attitude and work together then it was good. If they spent another month of bickering would that make you more supportive?

Where the partisan left and I break on this issue is that I have an innate desire for all humans to have the opportunity to live free and to make their own success. I believe that those who have a measure of success have an obligation to others to provide them the opportunity to succeed.

In the case of Iraq, those who wish to prevent human freedom are investing heavily in the fight.

BTW: Please read the next post several times and understand that it is 100% correct before posting about our President again. If you choose to ally yourself with our enemies after that, it is one you make of your own free will. (Which is more than you seem willing to grant Iraqis.)
